What about insurance and guest damage – how am I protected?
Standard home insurance may not automatically cover short-term guests.
Insurance Options
Most owners either adjust their policy for holiday home use, or take a specific landlord / short-stay policy, sometimes via their operator.
Guest Protection
On the guest side, operators use a mix of security deposits or card pre-authorisations, platform protection programmes (Airbnb, etc., subject to their terms). We document damage with photos, seek recovery from the guest or platform if needed, and then coordinate repairs.
